Described by U.S wine writer Robert Parker as producing some of the best value reds in Australia. Thorn-Clarke is one of Barossa Valleys largest grape growers and winemakers. The family orientated business was founded by David Clarke and Cheryl Clarke (nee Thorn), who both come from two long time Barossa families. Combined, the Thorn-Clarke family have had an involvement in the regions world famous wine industry, over six-generations.
Initially growing grapes and selling the fruit to other wineries, the Thorn-Clarke name is relatively young as a winemaker. They released their first wines in 2001 and have since received a five-star rating from Australian Wine critic James Halliday, which is awarded to wineries regularly producing wines of exemplary quality and typicity.
