Great discount on this rich but refined Gris from Waipara. The last vintage of this was the only Gris from outside France to make the Top 10 wines in Decanter’s World Pinot Gris Tasting.
The “Sand Dollar” is a step up to the single-vineyard range, named after the sea fossils that appear in these calcerous Waipara soils. It is a favourite of Greystone winemaker Dom Maxwell (NZ Winemaker of he Year 2018), who is a master of this gently unctuous yet delicate, and aromatic style.
