Hawke’s bay is home to new zealand’s oldest wine region. Over thousands of years, major rivers moved and formed valleys and terraces to create the unique area from where our wine is made today. We celebrate the region with our new hawke’s bay syrah.
Floral aromas such as lilac and violet with lifted dark berry notes appear on the nose. On the palate, flavours of boysenberry and plum with well-integrated oak influence come through. With medium weight on the palate, this wine has a hint of pepper and warm spices, rounded out with a soft and velvety finish.
With its delicate flavours, this wine would pair wonderfully with grilled meats and vegetables, particularly lamb and eggplant.
This syrah is drinking well now, or cellar for at least 5 years from vintage date to develop a further savoury and earthy complexity.
