Sheep Dip is a small batch, handcrafted, premium blended malt Scotch whisky. It marries together single malt whiskies from around Scotland in an enigmatically refined blend that packs plenty of punch.
One of the quaintest-named brands in the business, Sheep Dip’s origins lie in the West Country of England but it quickly found its way back over the border into Scottish ownership.
The first incarnation of Sheep Dip whisky was Original Oldbury Sheep Dip, an 8-year-old blend of 16 single malts. The quaint and intriguing name was allegedly (I’ll repeat that, allegedly) chosen to ensure that West Country farmers could put invoices for cases of it through their books without accountants noticing.
It is delicious served straight from the freezer or on the rocks but the possibilities for the use of Sheep Dog Whiskey are endless. For example, you can enhance a Sheepdog shot with a glass edged in peanut butter and crushed nuts or add it to an espresso martini or non-Irish coffee.
