Gordon Russell only makes this wine in the best years in tiny quantities (about 250 cases) exclusively from the terraced vineyard adjacent to the winery.
The Malbec, Merlot and Cabernet Franc are co-fermented in open top tanks and the finished wine aged for 21 months in French oak barriques. It is a big hearted aromatic wine, remarkably warm and concentrated that nonetheless oozes finesse. It is the equivalent of a classed growth, with the potential to age magnificently.
You can’t go wrong with a classic, straight up, crisp green apple cider. A bit like a Ford Cortina or timeless white shirt our Crisp Apple is enduring and authentic. This was the first cider we crafted and like all good originals it’s stayed true to form. It’s dry, tangy, green apple goodness and carefully crafted by our head cidermaker each season.
