The grapes for this delicious Sauvignon Blanc were sourced predominantly from the cooler slopes of the Crownthorpe District in Hawkes Bay, located on the foothills of the Ruahine range near the banks of the Ngaruroro River. The 2019 growing season enjoyed sensational weather, producing excellent quality grapes with clean, healthy and flavoursome fruit.
The parcels of fruit for this wine, selected from several vineyard sub-blocks with varying aspects, arrived to ideal ripeness under ideal weather conditions, enabling harvest to proceed unpressured over the course of late-March 2019, at the optimal point of ripening for each parcel.
Fermentation was initiated and proceeded in a slow controlled manner to preserve both the varietal fruitiness and its aromatic intensity. It was lightly fined, followed by stabilisation prior to bottling on 8th August 2019 under screwcap.
This classic Hawkes Bay Sauvignon Blanc is crafted in an off-dry style, with richness, depth and delightful aromas and flavours of luscious mango, tomato leaf, passionfruit and gooseberry. Deliciously appealing, enjoy on its own or matched with your favourite seafood and Asian style dishes.
