Founded in 1808, the Rhone icon Maison M. Chapoutier has undergone a recent rejuvenation that is nothing short of astonishing. They are the only vintner to hold land in all the major Rhone appellations from the far north to Châteauneuf-du-Pape in the South.
Passionate about the philosophy and practice of biodynamic viticulture, M.Chapoutier represents respect for the terroir with every decision they make. They listen to the environment and anticipate the needs of the earth to make wines that are faithful to its terroir and its vintage. Rather than create a set style, Chapoutier works continuously to create an originality of taste specific to each terroir and to each wine. M. Chapoutier was named Number 5 of the World’s Most Admired Wine Brands in 2018.
The presence of vines in the Luberon goes back to antiquity. The Romans planted these vines in particular in the Pays d’Aigues region, and then in the Middle Ages and during the Renaissance, the wine–growing areas spread widely, especially to the north of the Petit Luberon.
Grenache 60%, Syrah 30%, Carignan and Mourvedre 10%. A lovely ruby colour. Dominance of red stewed fruit (mainly morello and cherries) on the nose. Spicy aromas (pepper). Flavours on the palate of candied fruits. It is an elegant tannic wine.
