As one of the most long standing Chinese liquor brand, Luzhou Laojiao has always pursued a higher standard and it owns high quality products.
In the year 1324, the father of yeast-making Guo Huaiyu brewed the first generation of Luzhou Da Qu liquor, starting the history of strong aromalstyle Chinese liquor . In 1915, Luzhou Laojiao has awarded with the gold medal at the world’s fair in Panama.
Luzhou, at latitude 28 degrees, situated at the intersection of the Yangze River. It possesses all the favorable enviromental conditions for brewing, such as climate, water and microbial resources.
The traditional brewing craftsmanship has been inherited until today through 23 generations only by oral teaching. In 2006, Luzhou Laojiao, as the only representative of strong aroma style Chinese liquor, was listed in “National Intangible Cultural Heritage”. In 2008, the craftsmanship of distilled liquor brewing was listed in “Human intangible Cultural Heritage”.
