Deanston sits in the Highland single malt region of Scotland and produces whisky which is handmade by ten local craftsmen, un-chill filtered, natural colour and bottled at a strength of 46.3% ABV.
For Deanston’s single malts they use all un-peated barley (less than 2ppm phenol), and soft river water that flows over granite (so no peat in there either).
Its sweet but earthy and has good mouthfeel and texture. Its creamy but not heavy. Its a really beautiful balance of complimentary flavors, and I love that it is bottled at 46.3%. It has weight, not thin or lackluster, and the bourbon notes are robust and strong.
