VINEYARD

The vineyard at Moyhu perched on the fertile slopes arising from the King River in Victoria’s North East is where the fruit for this wine was grown. Situated at the base of the Alpine snowfields surrounded by mountains and rivers, this is a tranquil place to plant a vineyard. The Merlot vines were planted in 1999.

SEASON

The season started with regular rain during spring following a dry winter and with warm temperatures the vine growth was strong. Warmer temperatures during summer put a strain on the vines but with careful monitoring and irrigation we were to produce a slightly reduced crop and berry size which enabled good varietal flavour to be achieved.

TASTING NOTE

This vibrant Merlot is filled with plenty of plum and ripe berries while the soft rounded palate is full of juicy red fruit, sweet spices and gentle tannins.
