18th Amendment American Pale Ale
The 18th Amendment brought on the dark days of American Prohibition where banning alcohol meant you couldn’t get a decent beer anywhere, unless of course you “knew a guy.” Brewed in honour of your friendly local bootlegger, this APA is loaded with all-American aroma hops, malt characters, citrus notes and a crisp, bitter finish. Enjoy it quick before someone makes fun illegal again.
BREWER’S NOTES: An American patriarch exhibiting a gold to amber hued appearance with late kettle additions of West Coast American aroma hops supported by specialty malt characters. The hop flavour and bitterness will tease by lingering into the finish without the astringency often associated with high hopping rates, enlivened with a moderate to high level of carbonation.
FOOD MATCH: BBQ meats or Pork Belly – our APA has a nice malty base, perfect for matching with the saltier flavours of a pork belly, whilst the hoppier flavours match well with darker game meats.
